Shadows & Light: Things That Go Bump In The Night

What better way to start out a challenge than with a shot of breakfast? I am excited to take my skill to the next level!

The words, "A package came for you!" Ah... sweet words. The joy as I tore into that box to reveal the clean, crisp and most beautiful book I had been waiting for months to arrive.

The cover read, "The Modern Photographers Guide to Finding Beauty in Everyday and Family Life." A compilation of all those that I aspire to be like someday. My idols. Mom-tographers, some of whom run their own successful photography businesses.

I opened it to the that very first page, the dedication page. It read, "This book is dedicated to.....every woman who enriches her corner of the world with her camera." It is.....Capture the Moment by Sarah Wilkerson, CEO of Clickin Moms.

So why am I rambling on and on about a book that probably doesn't mean as much to you as it does to me? Well after opening this amazing hard-cover book I realized how much knowledge I can gain from it's easy to read pages and gorgeous sample photos.

I have decided to start yet another photography project based off what I learn in this book. However, unlike the many 365, Day in the Life, 52 Weeks, etc. projects I have started. This one does not have a deadline, rules or guidelines. I'm just going to take the pictures and post them as I have time and as it fits to my schedule.

Get ready for a whole new level of images, mostly of my kids, which I suspect you already knew was going to happen anyway. Let the journey begin!
